i'm still not fond of the changing of Dr. Doom's story, but it does look like fun.

The FF movie is Not even out yet, and I just spent Ten Dollars for a magazine which gives behind the scenes about it. Also coming out later is a Twenty Dollar Book which will be the last word on it, everything you want to know about the movie, and will include the complete script too. So far, I bought just the ten dollar magazine. But it was great! All in color of course.
What I dont understand is why Alicia Masters is being played by a black lady. In the comics, Alicia, a blind lady, is White. So can somebody explain why she is being played by a Black?
Reading the magazine, I was stunned by the tremendous amount of hard work that went into the FF movie. Just the spfx for Mr. Fantastic and the Human Torch alone called for a tremendous amount of work, but the director also created impressive sets for the Baxter Building and Doom's Tower, and even impressive spfx for the Space-Station where the legendary cosmic storm hits the characters.
To depict Reed's superpower of elasticity, the spfx artists had to really work at depicting accurately about how elasticity would affect one's skeletal structure, and veins, and musculature. This dedication to such detail shows how much work went into the film.
Also for the Human Torch, what the director wanted was NOT just to show a man on fire. No, the flames had to still show the facial expressions of the character, so what's impressive is that the actor's emotions are reflected in how the flames are depicted. Again, such dedication to detail.
Obviously, with such spfx, the FF movie is a zillion times harder to make than Batman.

What I should have clarified is that the difficulty of depicting the HUMAN TORCH on live-action film is that he must be shown as NOT a man on fire but rather a man OF fire. There is a difference. And judging from the trailers I've seen, the FANTASTIC FOUR film has done it even better than expected! So I'll be there in line at the theater this weekend for the FANTASTIC FOUR! Hope all of you will too, so we can make it a box-office winner.

As for changing Alicia to an african american woman it seems the hip thing to do with comic book movies. They changed Harvey Dent in the Keaton film,Catwoman as Halle Berry,The Kingping in Daredevil, and now this. There were even rumors that for BATMAN RETURNS they were going to use a black Robin.

Initial reviews of the film have not been very kind.Roger Ebert gave it a one star review in the Chicago Sun Times and other critics seem to be on the same page as he was.
