It is the most kick ass series ever done. There is literally so much going on that you can read it over and over and find something you missed. While reading it again, it's similarities to Crisis dawned on me. What I mean by that is the non-stop action and new characters in every pannel. JLA/Avengers was worth the wait, and all I know is we better get that damn JSA/Invaders crossover now.

i agree- this is the greatest series ever. it literally left me with "i wish this was an ongoing series so i could read all those crossovers that never happened"- always leave 'em wanting more.
i'd love a JSA/Invaders story, if Roy Thomas and Jerry Ordway do it. i mean, come on, who else can?
of course, it would have to be the REAL pre-Crisis Earth 2 JLA, so it would make more sense. which now shouldn't even be a problem.

I recently reread it, and it still rocks the kazba! So great, totally awesome as hell. It started in September of of 2003 and it took ahile to conclude because Perez developed some problems with his wrist drawing the awesome cover to number 3. webpages.csus.edu/~sac39525/jla_avengers3.jpg

I was hoping for a Hulk/Superman fight which was teased in issue 1.
But other then that. It was great. Especially the part where the Avengers swarm Superman and give him a huge beat-down after he takes out Thor.

The thing is that fight has kind of been done to death. They clashed in the second Superman/Spidey team up in the late 70s or early 80s, they clashed in the DC vs. Marvel series, and they had a one shot about a year ago. I for one was glad we got to see he and Thor go toe to toe instead. I would love to see Joe Fix It Hulk against Doomsday though. That would freakin rock.

that's pretty cool, although Cap looks kind of demonic. he just never gets to smile any more.
i'd say, and i think most people would agree with me, that if this sort of thing is ever done, it should be Roy Thomas and Jerry Ordway to do it. it would get me buying these comics, that's for sure!

While they have met 3 times none of the fights were satisfying. When they had their one-shot a few years ago, it was set in the Silver Age and was an extremely goofy story. Superman getting a root beer float, Hulk eating cacti and spitting the quills at Superman etc. Plus it was the smart/savage Hulk. When they fought in DC VS MARVEL the fight was 2 pages and it was the watered down "Professor Hulk". No "HULK SMASH" no "Madder he gets stronger he gets" no purple pants. Boo! The best fight was the one from the early 80's. The "real" HULK SMASH Hulk battling Superman. Unfortunatly the fight was just a couple of pages. I'm still waiting for a book length (serious story) encounter between these two. With the purple pants dumb Hulk fighting Supes.

That JSA/INVADERS brawl looks great. If it's ever gets done I'm so there as long as the ORIGINAL Human Torch (none of this Johnny Storm crap) takes out Green Lantern. BTW who is that kid getting punched out by Bucky? Whoever he is, he needs to hand in his costume. Any one who loses a fight to Bucky needs to get out of the Super-Hero biz.

that's the Sandman's sidekick, Sandy (yes, tres original!) so he could lose a fight to Bucky- i mean, a sidekick trained by Cap should be pretty good at fighting.
i'd hope they'd use pre-Crisis JSA as well.

I was at Barnes and Noble a couple of weeks back and got all bummed out when I went to the Graphic Novels section. They had the JLA-Avengers in collected form for $75! It is hardcover and there is some kind of companion book that comes with it but damn. I really, really miss my comics man. Way more than my Star Wars stuff, way more than my Transformers, way more than most stuff other than my autographs and pictures of the kids we lost. See, I am getting all melancholy now. Enjoy your collections guys, never know when something may make you lose them.

Chad, you should compile a list of some of your favorite comics, so i know what to look for at the Con next year. do you not have this series any more?

Nope, I don't have it anymore. Lost all my comics during Katrina. I alredy told Crystal that when we get on our feet(due to Worker's Comp screwing with my money) I want to get some trade paperbacks. I have to get Crisis, it was an awesome series. 100 Greatest Marvels 3 has that reprint of Hulk 181 I lost. It stinks because there are no All Star Squadron TPBs, but those are kind of cheap so I will get them one day. The DC-Marvel series and the Amalgam books as well. Sorry Dave, for the most part I do good, just every so often seeing some of the stuff I lost tugs at the heart strings.
