Me and my wife were shocked to hear about this news last night. He's probably been living on borrowed time for a while with the sort of stuff he does for a living, but it was shocking nonetheless.

The Crocodile Hunter met his match with a stingray.

"He came over the top of a stingray that was buried in the sand, and the barb came up and hit him in the chest," said Stainton.

my condolences to his family. i was very surprised to hear this, but i am almost sure it was the way he would want to go out- in nature, doing something he loved.

i've been stung by a stingray, and it HURTS. and that was just in the foot.
