I saw a Bozo special on Christmas and one sketch in particular was hysterical without being blue.I doubt most of the kids would've gotten the humor back then. Bozo,Whizzo and Cookie are doing THE THREE LITTLE BEARS with Bozo as Papa,Whizzo as Mama, and Cookie as Baby Bear.It had such lines such as Cookie saying "I hope I can go to the Orphan's picnic this year" or the hilarious lines at the climax: Whizzo as Mama:"Someone's been sleeping in my bed." Bozo as Papa:"Well don't look at me!"

Well well well. After much waiting and waiting and searching and prowling, I DID get myself a double Gamera movie disc for $1.
It's from eastwestdvd, and has Destroy All Planets and what was the other one called. Revenge of Gamera or some retitle like that. I had seen that one and wasn't too fond of it. But a cheap copy of Destroy All Planets is pretty durn neat if you ask me!
Oh yeah!

I suppose that would be a little bit better.
Actually as a matter of fact I already had "Destroy All Planets," and a couple of years ago paid twenty bucks for it. Granted this is a cheeseball heavily compressed DVD but not bad for one dollar...

I just picked up that eastwest dvd too. The other movie is GAMERA STRIKES BACK which is Sandy Frank's HK uncut dub of GAMERA VS BARUGON with a new title screen. The disc is not bad, but as Amph said, it's heavily compressed. I actually found a couple other cool double feature discs from eastwest as well-CREATURE FROM THE HAUNTED SEA with GIANT GILA MONSTER, LAST MAN ON EARTH with LAST WOMAN ON EARTH and TORTURE CHAMBER OF DR FAUSTUS with DRACULA AND HIS VAMPIRE BRIDE!

On a related note I passed up the opportunity to buy Paul Naschy's VENGEANCE OF THE ZOMBIES for a dollar. It was on a double with REVOLT OF THE ZOMBIES.I thought that VENGEANCE was another of those poverty row zombie films of the 40's.Then I remembered it was a Naschy film. When I returned the next day it was gone!!!!!!
I did wind up getting THE DEVIL BAT/THE PHANTOM CREEPS for one dollar though.

I guess this has become a "look what I found for a dollar" thread. I got a CASTLE OF BLOOD dvd for a buck...actally quite a few things over the last couple of years. Gumby, Harryhausen shorts, FANGS OF THE LIVING DEAD (a silly movie but not without some nice scenes). A bunch of neat stuff.

I went back to that SAVE ALOT yesterday and their dollar dvd bin was nearly empty. It was mostly mexican films and a few instructional dvds on winning at poker.I casually brushed my hands over some dvds and sure enough I uncovered VENGEANCE OF THE ZOMBIES starring Paul Naschy. At $1 I'm not expecting any major dvd release but for a dollar it's alot cheaper than getting a bootleg of equal or inferior quality.

The Bay Area seems to be lacking in the $1 DVD sales. Even the Targets here don't carry them anymore.

if you want some, i'll be more than happy to pick up a few, or copy them, as they are pretty easy to do.
i don't see any new stuff, just "old" different movies put together. i did buy a Gamera double feature for my friend, and she seemed delighted with it. i didn't watch it first, but it seemed OK.

More wondrous dollar purchases. I found some of those double-movie things and got Fury of the Wolfman with Horror Express on 1 disc...bought two of them actually, one for a friend who had never seen Horror Express, so there's a good deed there.
Fury of the Wolfman is not the best example of a Naschy film as its werewolf scenes are largely cobbled from other Waldemar flicks...but seeing as it's October and horror films are so necessary, well...it's a buck well spent, I think.

Wait, I'm getting confused here...
Which movie is "Attack of the Giant Monsters"? Is this a Gamera movie or a Godzilla movie? I need to brush up on my kaiju skills, I think.........

ATTACK is the AIP dub of GAMERA VS GUIRON with the major difference being that they cut out the scene where Guiron splits Gyaos in two revealing a fig newton center.Either AIP cut out that scene because it was too "violent" or too cheesy.

Oh really! Thanks for clarifying that for me--I might actually want to get one of those. May make a trip down to the local Dollar Tree to see if they've got 'em.

I saw those Dollar Tree discs. I have the titles in some other format. They also had one Christmas disc. It was Christmas programs from several old tv series.
