Well, I don't want to be watching something downbeat while trapped on a deserted island, so as much as I love the original, I wouldn't bring that with me. So after that there's DESTROY ALL MONSTERS or GODZILLA VS. BIOLLANTE, which is a damned tough choice for me.
I'm gonna say GODZILLA VS. BIOLLANTE by a miniscule margin, but if the situation weren't so damned depressing, which is why I think it's an unfair question, I'd probably go with the original.

THat's mean! There can't be only one!
Oh well... Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla '74 I don't know if it's my favorite, but I'd watch it more often than any other.

i really meant the island as a metaphor- if you could only have one to watch, which would it be? just trying to make it more interesting than "what's your favorite Godzilla movie" and by MAKING it only ONE choice naturally that makes it harder! EVILLE!

Easy. "GHIDRAH THE THREE HEADED MONSTER" Personal fave.

MONSTER ZERO!
That is totally easy.
And I don't know why I like it so much. Maybe because it's a lively romp that is all eye-candy, maybe because of the mixture of monsters and spaceships. Maybe it's the whole fantasy element with Godzilla and Rodan being transported to Planet X in energy bubbles, so they can drive Ghidrah away. Maybe it's the great cast. For me, this particular film is "frothy with FUN"!

Godzilla vs. Biollante is my pick. It's the only Heisei entry that I didn't read too many reviews of before watching it, the special FX are flawless as far as I'm concerned, I loved the story, and the action is plentiful.

i'd pick DESTROY ALL MONSTERS, although with Gigan you get a lot of clips from other Toho movies- DAM, RODAN, GHIDRAH, MZ, WAR OF THE GARGANTUAS, SMOG MONSTER... any more?

Definately, "Destroy All Monsters". But with my luck, it will end up being Toho's international version!

Always be GHIDRAH THE THREE-HEADED MONSTER, especially in its wonky English dubbed version. "I WON'T PAY!"

Well, I think that if you stuck on a desserted island, the last movie you'd want to bring would be SON OF GODZILLA. Think about it, would you want to know that giant spiders and praying mantises come from desserted islands? ...anyway, I'd probably bring......GODZILLA VS. THE SEA MONSTER.....OR GHIDORAH THE THREE HEADED MONSTER. those are the only two that I'm pretty sure of. Between them, I'd probably go with GHIDRAH by a small margin. The four original stars of the daikaiju genre in one movie can't be beat in my opinion.

If I could pick only ONE...it'd have to be ''DESTROY ALL MONSTERS''(though ''G VS.MEGALON'',''GHIDORAH''&''G VS. BIOLLANTE'' would be runners-up...)
'' 'Danger'?That's me middle name,son!''-William ''Compo'' Simmonite(Bill Owen),''LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE''

I'd have to say that DESTROY ALL MONSTERS fits my idea of the quintessential Toho sci-fi/fantasy movie. That, and THE MYSTERIANS. So, is I were to take ANY Godzilla movie with me to a desserted island... it would still probably be GHIDRAH, but DAM is the standard-bearer for well-made kaiju eiga.

This is a tough one-I'd have to go with either GHIDRAH THE THREE HEADED MONSTER or GODZILLA ON MONSTER ISLAND....hmmm,not sure, but probably GHIDRAH by a hair-better human cast.

i'd say GHIDRAH's cast was better than Gigan's by a bit more than a hair!
