Very scary movie from 1978! One of my old favorites.
Of note is that the murderous ghost isn't going after any innocent people--only after its enemies, the "bad people," so to speak...but it's one of the ANGRIEST ghosts I've ever seen depicted in a movie--it's straight-up insane--and even after it's killed everyone who was causing it a problem, and even after the house is burned down, the crazy wacky thing is STILL THERE. This ghost just does not wanna take a chill!
Anyone here seen this wonderful flick?

Is it out on DVD? I had a friend who reviewed it back in 78 for the jr high school paper, he liked it then. I've never seen it, or even heard it talked about very much.

Is this one of those horror movies with a BIG NAME ACTOR in it? I notice there were a lot of those in that time period.

Whoops! It was actually from 1980.
Featured George C. Scott, Trish Van Devere, John Colicos and Melvyn Douglas, among others.
Watch it really late at night in an empty house, and you might find yourself extremely creeped out.

Oh, and, yes, it is on DVD. In fact, they even have it down at the local video store, and I was going to go down the street to rent it, because I haven't seen it in a while.

Yeah, I liked "Ghost Story" too!
It has a weird texture for a ghost movie, and the manifestations of the ghost in all those weird forms are pretty unnerving...that bruised waterlogged corpse (with the beautiful red hair) that rolls over in Craig Wasson's bed at the beginning always gets me, it's such a nasty image. And speaking of nasty, Alice Krige is very nasty...but in a good way. (The Borg aren't really supposed to have a "queen," but since someone decided they had to have one, she's a good choice.)

To Amphiboid: Surprising that among the "Changeling" cast you include JOHN COLICOS. As I recall, wasn't Colicos the actor who appeared on STAR TREK as the Klingon Commander Kor in the episode "Errand Of Mercy"?

Actually, I didn't watch enough classic Trek to remember seeing him in that--but I do recall that he was one of the main baddies in the original BATTLESTAR GALACTICA...
Ah, the 70's.

John Colicos was Count Baltar, the human who betrayed the colonies to the Cylons. Although the Cylons killed him in the original movie for the series he was kept alive and became the chief villain.

And he was the Klingon you mentioned, later on brought back in Deep Space 9 as well, complete with forehead ridges and no mention of why he had "changed" (I like Roddenberry's explanation). Those were some good episodes of DS9.

What explination?
I like one I read on a web page that was poking fun. It said the reason the Klingon's heads changed is that their brains shrunk.
