Just watched this one a few nights ago on disc with it's co-feature CURSE OF THE LIVING CORPSE. Dark Sky comes through again with a great looking widescreen print and lots of extras including audio commentaries for both movies with director Del Tenney! Honestly I didn't care that much for CORPSE, it was ok and definitely fun, but nothing like the wacky greatness of Party Beach! The monsters are cool/goofy looking, the babes are cute, even the del-Aires music was pretty good! Lots of fun to be had here! What I found most interesting is that this film, and all of Tenney's movies were filmed on the East Coast and not in or by Hollywood crews.

Always loved this movie. I had a magazine when I was a kid that featured the whole film.
"Everybody do the Zombie Stomp!"

I always wanted that magazine! I remember seeing it advertised in the back of Famous Monsters when i was a kid and thought it looked really cool. That was actually the first place I had ever heard of the movie! Del Tenney and the guy from Dark Sky talk a little about the magazine in the audio commentary too. Del didn't have anything to do with it aside from providing all the photos, and it was made a few years after the movie I guess. Del said he liked it and thought it was a great idea, but aside from the stills he wasn't asked to be involved in the production or layout of it.

I remember it was a fun magazine. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure I don't have it anymore. A bunch of my old mags got lost or mistakenly thrown out through the years. I know there are still some Famous Monsters in boxes buried in my garage. One day I will clean and hopefully find them.

Oh, man, I'm a sucker for those Warren publications...would love to get one of these Horror of Party Beach magazines.
I have just realized that magazines can be nice to collect, simply because they're flat--they don't take too much space to store. Unless you have a million of them or something crazy like that!
