That's cool, Shonokin. Did you work on the effects? BTW, I like UNDISCOVERED COUNTRY too.

Yeah, I was a technical assistant on several scenes; the Chronos explosion shockwave and the Klingon blood in zero gravity come to mind.
Probably the coolest thing was sitting in on the dailies for the practical effects such as all of the spaceship footage. I went into cgi because in the mid-80s I saw it was the way of the future, but my heart's always been in the hands on side of effects. But if I'd went that direction, I'd probably not have a job now.

it's cool (and a smart decision to work in cg) that you worked on the last real Star Trek movie. did you meet any of the cast?
i've only got three more ST movies to watch, and i've not seen the final one.

That's how I looked at it too, the last real Star Trek movie.
But no, never met any of the cast for any of the movies I worked on, though Chevy Chase was camped out in a trailer at the ILM complex for a while during Memoires of an Invisible Man, but didn't see him around either.

anyone notice how many plot elements the last "Trek" movie stole from other Treks?
