Truly SSSWWWWEEEEEEEETTTTTT!!!!!!! God, you just gotta love all the detail Alex Ross gets into the subjects he paints! He really does capture the feel and the grandure of what a battle between these 2 god like giants would be like in a real world setting! Where ever did you find this? Does this mean Mr. Ross will do a U-Man Comic?

Alex Ross? That name sounds vaguely familiar.
I'm still waiting for some "Yoshiitaka Amano" Kamen Rider. ;D
Edit: That Stupid Profanity Filter required me to use two "i"s.

Alex Ross has done all manner of comics for DC, Marvel, and several smaller independent companies like image. I think he is best known for his work on DC's Kingdom Come series, and his work at image on the Battle of the planets series. He always paints his stuff! Again, great work!

i'd love to see him do some Kikaida stuff. he did have that rare lapse of judgement in the recent Battle of the Planets comic. Jim, go to to the .com on the painting, there's several more, Ultra 7, Jack and Namegon even!

Megs, I think Alex did the BOTP comic simply because he grew up with G-Force, and loved the show. His art was the only saving grace ofthat comic, imo. I thought his solo books on Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and Shazam were best; treasury sized so you could really enjoy his work!!!!
I will check out the site, but it may take forever and a day for those pics to download to my PC, with me being on dial up now and all that!

look at this cover for the DC Space Ghost comic (hope it's not lame, at least he's no talk show host!):

Artist Alex Ross lives in a suburb of Chicago[just like me] and he must have been exposed to Ultraman when the now Telemundo station channel 44 ran the blocks of shows JOHNY SOCKO,SPACE GIANTS,ULTRAMAN and SPECTREMAN back to back to back to back.........getting cramps in fingers...must complete post...fate of humanity....hangs in balance.......
Not only that but SON OF SVENGOOLIE horror show ran a good amount of Japanese films during the early eighties. So the man has certainly been exposed.[By the way Alex Ross appeared in an episode of the revamped Svengoolie show in the nineties when Svengoolie ran CAPTAIN AMERICA.]

I'm guessing Alex didn't do the inside art.
The Battle of the Planets comic is well drawn and a good read.
