Yep it's ultraman taro and ultraman 2000.Now you are all scratching your heads saying "ULTRAMAN 2000?"
Well it is something of a trick question.I just saw an infomercial for some mexican dvds about mexican wrestling which was shot in tijuana most likely in the eighties and nineties.two of the wrestling stars billed on the dvds were Ultraman 2000 and Ultraman Taro.
I did see some clips of a wrestler dreesed up as Ultraman[I'm guessing this is the 2000 dude] and in Mexico there has been a miriad of wrestlers who have used that gimmick. However I DOUBT they were ALL UNAUTHORIZED because some of them DID WRESTLE IN JAPAN under these gimmicks so Tsuburaya prod. must have known about these guys and given their consent, unless in Japan you can get away with this sort of stuff like you can in mexico.

Copyright laws are much more lax in Japan than they are in the States.

it seems like i have a remember of someone talking about the wrestlers, and saying TPC knew about them but since they were not in movies or fighting giant monsters they counted it as promotion and good will. i could be wrong though.

There have been a few Ultramen wrestlers in Mexico from Ultraman to Zoffy[called Zonick in Mexico cuz Zoffy sounds like "Softy" I guess]to Taro to some variations with different names like STARMAN but with the Ultraman look.
And as I posted at least one made a good career wrestling in Japan. These guys were sort of cult favorites around Mexico but were never really that big in Mexico City and the Arena Mexico, their equivalent to Madison Square Garden. Some of the wrestling press liked them while others treated them as gimmick wrestlers.

I think Starman also died the tights purple probably to avoid any more legal entanglements with the original Ultraman.
Isn't it funny that two peole dispute the copyrights that aren't even theirs?!?!?

that is funny, and since the name Starman is owned by DC comics, it gets better.

Let us not forget the SHINTOHO STARMAN.Ok so he is really SUPERGIANT,big deal.Oh and let's not forget the movie and crappy tv series sequel STARMAN of the mid eighties.
Yep out of the frying pan into the oven.STARMAN sure knows how to pick already licensed copyright characters he has no claim over.
