Well... to be honest the trim doesn't take anything away from the story. Still, it's pure PC BS that MGM cut it. As far as I'm concernd it's the same as colorizing something; you're altering the original without input from those who made it. Celluloid blasphemy.
More importantly, as a lover of big natural hoots, this film is a warm fuzzy memory from my formative days (I was 14 when I saw it). Trust me David, you don't soon forget a full frontal upper torso shot of a woman as naturally well-endowed as the lovely Adrienne Barbeau washing herself!!!!! I know it's forever burned into my memory! *SIGH*

i rented the first disc of the show- it's pretty interesting, overall, but these first few stories are definitely not standard superhero stuff.
Durock does a fine job as our hero and the suit is pretty good.

I loved the early Bernie wrightson comics of ST, those were definately gothic and full of comics code approved horror. I also liked the Alan Moore run, with the parliment of trees, ST more of an elemental being, and all that. That 1st film stuck to me with Ms. Adrieene's endowments as well, and I'm sorry to hear about that cut. Saw the 2nd film on TV, and not sure if it was the editing and commercials or the film itself, but I just couldnt get into it. Loved that tv show tho.
Saw the man thing, and bought it when it first came out, and I can tell you the look of the Man thing was the only good thing in the film. I beleive you really didn't get a great look at him till the last 15 minutes of the flick or so, and it left my collection post haste.
Have they brought back MT in marvel comics yet?

I recently picked up the first film [SWAMP THING (1982)] at Big Lots for just $3.00! They had this plus lots of other great discs. I'll add a post about that in one of the other forums. As for the film itself, I saw it a couple times on cable back in the '80s, but forgot how much fun it was. I really enjoyed seeing it again. Lots of cool action, nice photography, music and pacing - and what can ya say about Adrienne Barbeau? - She's worth the price of admission alone.
