We're showing 35mm prints of The 7th Voyage of Sinbad and 20 Million Miles to Earth, along with some rare interview footage and other goodies. Of special note we will have in person Phil Tippett and several other bay area animators, including Webster Colcord, creator of Underground Robot! www.sfgodzillafest.com/sinbadindex.htm

So this happened on Saturday and it was a blast for the audience, the guests and for us guys that put it on. There were a lot of interesting and fun stop-motion artifacts on display ranging from Phil Tippett's Mighty Joe Young armature to Webster Colcord's Wah Chang collection of sculpted heads from various George Pal movies and puppetoons. Also more recent items such as the stop mo puppets of Mr Earthworm from James and the Giant Peach and one of the Witches from Nightmare Before Christmas. The panel on stop motion was a lot of fun and all of the guests related their own personal stories of what brought them into the business and what fascinates them about the process. The movies were in great shape and everyone enjoyed them. The whole production went great and it is an excellent warm up to our next gig, the Godzilla 50th Anniversary Celebration at the Castro in SF. Here's a pic of Tippett talking about his Mighty Joe Young armature. (it's not the original but an exact replica built by Tom St. Amand at ILM)
