From Cinescape.com: I only know Darwyn Cooke from his excellent reanimation of Wil Eisner's The Spirit. If they follow the art style I've seen of the covers for New Frontier, this could be really something to see.

this could be a lot of fun. Lucy is an obvious choice as Wonder Woman. they will be hard pressed to be equal to JLA/U, but seeing Hal and Barry would be great.
who's voicing John?

he was at the Con this year. it looks like a cool movie, and it's so nice to see heroes smiling again.

The SUPERMAN DOOMSDAY dvd had a sneak peek at the movie. They show Lucy Lawless acting out her role as Wonder Woman in the sound booth.Guess she still has a bit of the Xena role left in her.

gotta love the moron who complained this was too "old school" because they were all white. save the Martian. did he completely miss the setting?

I try not to look at comments at places like youtube IMDB AICN, etc etc because my faith in humanity always plummets. But I did see that as well. A comment made all the more ironic by the whole subject matter of the story of New Frontier itself.
Of course it's soooo old school that the idiot probably doesn't even know who JFK is.

I watched it last week and was as blown away as I expected to be. The animation is well done, and very well art-directed. The story is mostly intact but certain things were cut that I wish weren't, such as the run in with the dinos in the first episode of the comic.
This was a great production.

i am a bit mystified by the 75 minute running time, i mean, would it have been so bad at 90 minutes?
ima have to find a TPB of the story too, i see. the little touches are so nice though. and i reiterate, it's really nice to see superheroes smiling once more.
i also have to question Booster Gold and Captain Marvel on the cover the DVD, but i sure want to see animated Metal Men. really nice to see the Chals as well, including June!
always leave 'em wanting more, right?

The way the story runs, it could have been 90 minutes without getting boring. Reminds me a bit of The Empire Strikes Back with the juggling of multiple character-driven storylines at once.
I think most of the stuff that got cut at the very least gets mentioned in passing. I understand why the first segment with The Losers fighting the dinos got cut, but it's one of the more amazing bits that harkens back to the classics with the War That Time Forgot type stuff. The whole storyline for the Challengers of the Unknown gets cut and their screentime is very limited, which is too bad because one of the pivotal moments for the whole story centers on them. Ah well, can't have everything.
The thing about the TPB is that it's a DOUBLE TPB. The story runs probably around 12-14 comics so they put it out as two TPB or a super giant 470 page hardback edition. Either way it's worth it.

i'd like a different cover to this DVD- this one doesn't really even represent the movie at all, as much as i hope more people will want to know who the Metal Men are.
really enjoyed the doc, even if they claimed that Stuper friends was the first JLA cartoon, forgetting the Filmation version completely. oh, sure, it was only three 6 minutes episodes, but still, it was first. other than that it was nice to see the recaps of all the heroes.
heck, it was lots of fun to see covers of comics i actually owned or still own!

I absolutely loved this film! The portrayal of Barry allen, the friendship/conflict of Supes & WW, the way they did batman and his reason for robin, all of it was great! John Jones was better in this than in JL or the JLU cartoons. Got really tired of the all alone last of my kind schtick. supes is last son of krypton, but it didn't get him down.
one thing I didn't like was voice of Batman, should have kept kevin conroy for that. He will always be the voice of Batman to me.
the extra cdrom green lantern comic was cool, although it didn't really give us more than the movie. I'll have to post a review of Gotham Knight up here soon....

Batman's voice has gotten better to me, now. just read the books, and it really helped flesh out the movie a lot.
my main gripe is- especially with adaptions- why there's just a 75 minute time limit? 90 minutes would have worked just fine, and they could have added some of the really cool stuff, like the magicians palaver over the moon.Attachments:
