I saw it and I loved. Not just because it's Batman which lots of people I'm sure think. I thought the movie had some good points. I defintely could have done without Katie Holmes in the movie. I really didn't feel like it even needed a romantic lead in it. The story would have stood very well without her in it. I was really curious how they were going to pull off the villians and such but they did it very cleverly and I was impressed at the end of the movie. Alfred was his usual self witty and willling to tell Bruce what for. Seeing a young commisioner Gordon was cool too and getting to hear baby Barbara cry in the kitchen was neat. And finally someone who actually looks like Gordon. I have to say if these movies stick to how they started they will be might impressive.

my only complaint is the poor action scenes. i know it's supposed to make Batman more mysterious and fast, but i want to see Batman kick butt, not quick shots- once, maybe, but we need battles in comic book movies.

It's this whole "let's shoot movies like music videos" type mentality which totally sucks!

those were the worst action scenes i've ever seen in a superhero movie. i understand that Batman is fast and can take out the thugs quickly, but there had to be better ways to shoot it than this way.
it's a good movie, and had it been called "The Bat Begins" i'd like it a lot more. i mean, someone else had to make Bruce decide he wanted to fight crime? weak. i liked a lot of the small touches, Joe Chill being named, lots of comic book touches were cool, but the Bat-tank sucked sewer water- didn't really need to see another high speed chase in any movie, either. the batarang-stars were a neat idea, though not very aerodynamic. didn't mind the useless Rachel character, though why not use any number of other women from the comics?
the fight scenes are just really poor. we do get a lot of Batman in the suit, but when it comes to bat-action, this isn't the movie for it. there should have been SOME color on the batsuit to make it stand out a bit more.
it's pretty funny the dark eyeliner disappears when they take the cowls off...

Same thing happened in the Burton and Shoemaker films as well as THE PHANTOM.

All in all I found this to be the best of the new Batman films. It just seemed to keep truer to the comics than any of the others, not that it was completley acurate, but still fun. I agree about Katie Holmes, if they were going to have a female romantic interest I wish they would have picked one who didn't look and sound twelve.

Best Batman movie ever, no complaints here at all . Pretty much. Everyone keeps whinning about the action scenes but it doesn't matter, the story and characters were too good to really care about that. It's nice to have a Batman movie that's actually about Batman.

meh- it's adequate. he also lacked a good "Batman" voice, but i do admit that i have been spoiled by Kevin Conroy's excellent portrayal- best. Batman. voice. ever.
had the action scenes been better, and had there been a real Batmobile, this movie would have been much more fun.
like most movies these days, they are just so frustrating- they should be better than they are.
by the way, hope you had a good birthday recently, Gman!
