The Roy Rogers Show (1952) starring Roy Rogers Trigger Dale Evans Pat Brady Bullet the Wonder Dog Roy Rogers, King of the Cowboys assisted by his horse, wife, sidekick and dog, takes time off from running a ranch and a cafe to capture theives, murderers and other outlaws in 100 thirty-minute episodes. I have The Roy Rogers Show Vol 3 DVD: 1. The Train Robbery 2. Ride in the Death Wagon 3. Shoot to Kill 4. Ranch War BONUS CARTOON: Betty Boop, "Be Human" I don't think I had ever seen The Roy Rogers Show before. I was expecting their to be musical numbers, but the only singing in these 4 episodes was the during the ending credits, "Happy Trails". The Roy Rogers Show was a more modern western series than most. There were telephones and automobiles, Pat Brady drives a jeep ("Nellybelle") as well as riding a horse ("Phineas"). Dale Evans horse was named "Buttermilk". I enjoyed the four episodes, the third which focuses on Pat Brady was more comical than the others. I haven't seen volumes 1 and 2.

i've seen a couple nice western tv/movie docs that talk about Roy and Dale, and they are fun.
if you want to see Trigger's movie debut, watch THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD- Maid Marian is riding Trigger! Roy had come by the set and once the movie was over bought the horse because he like it so much. the rest is history!
