Ian Keith as Doc Peters
Gloria Marlen as Carol Condon

Marshal Cheynne Davis receives a letter from Sheriff Fuzzy Jones who needs his help putting an end to a feud between the Harts and the Condons, co-owners of a gold mine. I had never seen a Lash LaRue film before so when I saw this $1 DVD of two of his films I just had to buy it. After watching this film I now know how he got the name "Lash", in addition to twin six guns he uses a whip. Al "Fuzzy" St. John provides comic relief as the inempt sheriff Fuzzy Q. Jones. His nick name comes from his beard.
If you don't mind an obvious plot this isn't a bad little western. Of course the feud has been caused by a gang of outlaws who want to take over the mine. There has to be a woman involved so one of the minors has a sister, who is kidnapped by the gang who signs a ransom note with the mine owner's name. Marshall Davis decides to go undercover. Using a letter taken from a jailed gunman he pretends to be a hired gun called "the Tiger" in order to trick the gang into thinking he's one of them. Of course he's found out.
Ghost Town Renegades (1947)
'Lash' LaRue as Marshall Cheyenne Davis
Al 'Fuzzy' St. John as Fuzzy Jones
Jennifer Holt as Diane Trent
Jack Ingram as Vance Sharp
Terry Frost as Henchman Flint
Steve Clark as Rodney Trent
Lee Roberts as Luther Johnson
Lane Bradford as Henchman Waco
Henry Hall as Marshal Albert Jennings
William Fawcett as Jonas Watson
Dee Cooper as Henchman
Mason Wynn as Henchman
Marshal Cheyenne Davis and sidekick Fuzzy Jones investigate the disappearance of a surveyor and his assistant who had been working in a town abandonded after the gold mines played out 50 years ago. The two law men end up uncoverning a scheme to murder land owners in order to take over their property.
Mashall Cheyenne Davis goes undercover by simply removing his badge and going under the name "the Cheyenne Kid". Apparently the Cheyenne Kid has a reputation as dangerous gunman but is not known to be a lawman. Fuzzy Jones is not as innempt in this film but Cheyenne still has to come to his rescue.
They must like recyling names in these old films. One of the villians in Border Feud was Jack Barton. In this film the criminials live in Barton City.
