Great Wolverine film, not so great X-MEN film.Too many characters are shortchanged again, which is ironic since there were more mutants in this one.As usual many of the characters histories and backgrounds are completely ignored[Juggernaut isn't a mutant folks!]and they are kept in the background playing support to Wolverine. The story seems to be missing some pieces,as if scenes were cut from the origianl version in favor of a shorter fast paced final release cut.I enjoyed the film but would have loved to see other mutants in the spotlight rather than just another Wolverine starring role.

I never got into the X-Men, accept for the video game. I prefered to play Storm, and no I wasn't good at it.

I truly enjoyed Kelsey Garmmer as Beast which surprises me considering the only other thing I liked him in was Up Periscope. I don't know, it just seemed that they tried to mesh way too many stories together. I had fun trying to explain about Juggernaut to my Wife and friends we went with.I thought it was bunk that they completely glossed over the fact the Marko is Prof X's step brother. Where was Nightcrawler in this film anyway. I am still curious as to why they have not had Wanda or Pietro in any of the films yet. Are they going to do the whole Shiar Empire and Starjammer thing to explain what happened to Scott and Charles. Wolverine was tight as was Beast. It was nice to see Colossus but was disappointed they couldn't even keep his nationality right. I did enjoy the speedball combo though. There was just something missing with this film. I did mark out for the Ghostrider preview, that looks to be a good one.

I didn't see that preview.Yhey didn't show it at the theater I went to.But they did show the one for SUPERMAN RETURNS which looks awful.
Sadly X-MEN 3 seems to have been directed by someone who only thought all the fanboys wanted was a WOLVERINE film.Seeing as how it broke box office records perhaps he was right.

there are not enough X-Fanboys to make the movie that much money, they'd have to see it about 12 times a piece this past weekend. possibly the Hugh fans would be more like it.

I think there are more X-MEN fanboys than you'd care to admit. After all X-MEN and some of it's spinoffs like WOLVERINE and X-FORCE were among the highest selling comics of the 90's.

Alot of people my age remember fondly the Fox Cartoon as well so even non comic fans have some familiarity of the characters. The X Men were also one of the best selling and most acclaimed comics of the 80s.

The movie wasn't terrible but not great by any stretch. The whole Phoenix/Dark Phoenix storyline, which was much longer/better in the comics, should have been a whole movie unto itself. Now I know I would never see a movie version of the comic "Death of Phoenix" (the kick ass battle with the Imperial Guard, sweet!!), but how cool would it have been to see a movie version of the Hellfire Club storyline??

well they seem to only care about Wolverine as it appears the next film will be a solo outing for the crazed canuck, and will most likely delve into his WEAPON X origin.
