This is an Italian made western but not by Sergio Leone (A Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly) altough it does feature music by Ennio Morricone (A Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly).
"This is revenge... And there's nothing sweet about it!"
As a young boy Bill Meceita witnesses the murder of his father, rape and murder of his mother and older sister. Fifteen years later he goes looking for revenge.
Also searching for the gang is Ryan, an older man who has just been released from prison after fifteen years. He wants the men alive so he can extort money out of them. He wants each man to pay him $15,000, a grand for each year he served in prison after they betrayed him.
For most of the film Ryan and Bill are rivals but ultimately they work together.
There's a surprise twist in the end.
Lee Van Cleef was one of my favorite western movie actors. He died in 1989.
Ryan: Somebody once wrote that revenge is a dish that has to be eaten cold. Hot as you are, you're liable to end up with indigestion.
If you like "spaghetti westerns" or are a fan of Lee Van Cleef you'll like this one.
I got it on a dollar DVD.
