does anyone have any idea where this toy came from? i've had it forever, it came along with a ship and a saucer, along with an astronaut. those of course, are long gone. but the Robot is still around. he's about 3" tall, tops.

I used to have one of those too. In fact I used its likeness in some of my comic strips I did as a kid.
It's not a Micronaut. That's all I can tell you.

true- it's solid steel, and looks nearly as good now as it did when i got it. wish i had kept the box, but i don't even remember it having one.

Amazingly, I had that guy too! I wonder if there was just the one figure.
John Marshall might know, as he wrote a book on 1980s action figures.

i never knew the names, and don't even think i saw boxes. i wonder if my mom got them, but couldn't get the price tags off so she just opened them up. it's so wild learning about toys you had, but knew nothing about. least i still have the robot, Radon (why'd they name him after an element?).

Or named after a kaiju (romaji spelling)?
I could be thinking of something else but seem to remember Radon being the first figure I had the now commond struggle of untying twist ties to get him out of the packaging.

I must have gotten mine on the blister card. I can't remember any of the other stuff on that page.

it's one of those things i think i'd love to have, but then what would i do with them? just display them, i guess. meh. still, very very cool. the astronaut's ship is featured in the amateur film "The Space Cow-Boy" which i may just upload to youtube in the near future!
