Sammo Hung is credited as being a star in this, but he's in the movie for about 5 minutes and gets killed.
anyway, this is a pretty decent sword flick. Chang Yi goes for revenge against the man that killed his father, and gets arrested by a virtuous swordsman who promises his blind mother he will get a fair trial. the eville warlord doesn't want that, so he sends squad after suicide squad to get our heroes. Chang Yui's hot sister helps out, and there's a surprise at the ending- but still a lot of sword fighting.
gotta love these actors that do most of their own stunts. some wirework and some trampoline, but mostly it's just the actors fighting. much more satisfying than human yo-yos flittering through the air! but that's just me, i reckon.
the DVD looks nice, is in sort of widescreen and shows off a lot of the local scenery. the sound is adequate, it tends toward the loud end of the spectrum. the subs are right on the film, and tend to get lost in the background on occasion.
ever wonder what happens at the castle once the warlord doesn't come back? i mean, there's gotta be retainers and such that wait for a while!
