this is a Lau Kar Leung movie. made after CHALLENGE OF THE MASTERS, it again stars his half brother, Gordon Liu as real life hero Wong Fei-Hung. in this he has to battle a northern master after a long bunch of misunderstandings - the Northern master is tricked by the rival school, of course. it does kind of end abruptly though.
this is what makes the Shaws so cool- it's better than CHALLENGE due to the humor, which CHALLENGE tends to lack. real Hung Gar kung fu is shown, along with the appropriate northern stylings. no computer effects at all, nor chop-edit camera work- these actors know their stuff.
i think if you've studied martial arts this movie will be lots of fun, far more than if you are just a fan of the films, because you know how martial arts teachers can be.
whoever remastered this disc (English language is added to the Celestial DVD) also kept the subs and original language. nicely done.

Tiet Wo Chu Hou Hsiao ... Student Kara Hui ... Chu-Ying Feng Ku ... Huang Chi-Ying Chia Hui Liu ... Huang Fei-Hong Chia-Liang Liu Te-Lo Mai ... Yin-Lin Lung Wei Wang ... Master Shan
it's too bad they dubbed the Northern master, since one of the reasons for him fighting the "good guys" is that he speaks Mandarin instead of Cantonese.

The last fight is truly something special. Only a master action director can pull off a good fight in such a tight space like that.
