Reports in the wrestling press are going around that Vince is blocking former employees of his from using their wrestling monikers. Now guys like Billy Kidman and The Dudley Boys are being sued for using character names they had before arriving in the WWE.

I guess it comes down to if this stipulation was in their original contract. If not then he doesn't have much of a case. But I would imagine his lawyers are bigger, meaner and more sneaky than an average wrestler's legal help.

i have heard that as well. that's one of those tricky things- if they signed the rights of the name over to him, he has them. that would suck. i know he had issues with the LOD owning their trademarks over LOD and the Road Warriors. but isn't that Billy's real name?

It mostly comes down to Vince bullying the smaller promotions so they can't compete at a national level as he does.If these guys have a bunch of former wwe stars these promotions could rise to compete against Mcmahon the way TNA is doing it.
Simply put wrestling promoters are only a mughshot removed from mafiosos. The bigger ones like to horde a bigger cut and anyone trying to get in on the action gets gunned down.Sadly there doesn't seem to be any sort of federal law that can prevent Mcmahon from ruining the earning potential of his former employees, many of whom have made him richer.
