Midsouth is releasing four DVDs at national retailers starting in late July. We know about their UWA site, but being able to get some of this stuff at a local store seems cool. They will probably be cheaper than the UWA releases and if the stuff gets out there some people may discover how great Midsouth was and may intice people to buy stuff from the UWA site. I hope this happens as Midsouth is the last great promotion(Sadly what footage from San Fran, LA, Portland, St. Louis, and the WWA isn't the classic stuff as most of these places were white hot back before people thought to save footage) with a library that hasn't sold to Vince and would love to see them succeed.

just picked this up today at Best Buy (had to go to a different one). it looks and sounds great, though i wish they had them in a bit more chronological order than they do, but it's lots of fun.

I haven't seen these yet. Hell falling behind on my DVDs. I want to get some of these, the new HBK set, The Most Powerful Families in Wrestling, and the WWE's World Class set.

it's a fun set, but easily shows the most popular angles, ones most fans have seen before. a few squash matches here and there. it's ALL over the place timewise- Teddy and Doc go from face to heel to face and back again constantly, as do the Hacksaws. they could have done a little more prep as well, there's no reasons really given for the feuds, except in the commentary on occasion.
even a date at the beginning of the match would have been nice.

I can't find these at all. If Midsouth were inclined they could put out some great sets like WWE does. Do a documentary on greats like JYD, Ted DiBiase, Paul Orndorff, Steve Williams, The Rock and Roll Express, and Midnight Express then have a varied match listing from their Midsouth work. They could even do a Heroes of World Class type deal.

i wish they would do that too- especially for Ted and Jake, but the JYD sure needs a DVD set, and without Mid-South, there will never be a definitive set (same as Ted).
watching the second vol. of this is fun, but it also suffers from the same timeline problems- all over the place. Ted's a face, a heel, a face with no explanation. Doc faces off against Ted, teams with Jake and then Ted...
great matches for the most part though. i miss Boyd Pierce. and then we see a very young Shawn Michaels jobbing and a young Vince MacMahon talking to Andre about his Killer Khan match, and it's the Cowboy that introduces Vince! earlier in the matches we hear Bill badmouthing Titan sports and their "mastodons".
i hope they do some more sets, but with a bit more thought into them. there's 150 minutes of footage here, but it's on a DVD-5, a single layer DVD!
