here's a thread where we can talk about the more unusual DVD sets, like this one- Warriors of Wrestling, the AWF. i got this set at Fry's, it's 18 episodes of this very short-lived fed, though it had a lot of star power in it, Tito Santana, The Road Warriors, Sgt. Slaughter, Tommy Rich, Bob Orton, the SST and more.
i saw three or four of these shows back in the mid-90s and thought it was enjoyable, a throwback- even THEN- to the AWA. not sure where it was shot, but the crowd was full.
man, i miss wrestling that doesn't have wives, weddings, owners putting themselves over the talent... i'll enjoy this four disc set, that's for sure.
i wonder if any of the jobbers turned into stars...

did a little research on the AWF, it actually ran about two years, which was way longer than i thought. it's quite enjoyable.
i thought Jeff Gaylord was Mike Awesome at first.

Some of the weirder ones I have are dollar DVDs. I have the I Generation PPV from 7 years ago called Rodman Down Under where the Worm took on Mr. Perfect. My Mother In Law got me some called Grandmasters of Wrestling. It is two DVDs of really bad indy wrestling from Massachusetts. It had guys like Nicolai Volkoff, iron Mike Sharpe, and King Kong Bundy waaayyyy past their prime. They had Ken Patera as one of the commentators.
Yo Megs, please make me a copy of the Warriors' AWF stuff.

if it's on there, you got it. i've only watched one disc so far, there's only so much i can take. the action is pretty good, but they have some of the hours out of order.
i read it was about the whole history of the AWF, so i'll keep you posted.
i really like the Wrestling Gold DVDs you sent me, those just rock.

I love the fact that you can listen to the original commentary as well as an alternative track with commentary by Corny and Dave Meltzer.

i don't even watch them without the commentary!
those AWF DVDs don't feature the LOD, and they also have one episode out of order. but not bad overall.

I got a two disk set called the Wild Men of Wrestling. It wa hosted by Mike Graham, Steve Keirn, and Kevin Sullivan. It features shows Florida Championship Wrestling which was a good promotion. There are some good older matches on there from the mid 70s.
I got put out by Cascadia called Wrestling Volume II. It is great. It has black and white matches on it. Off the top of my head it has Antonio Rocca against Primo Carnera, Rocca vs. Johnny Valentine, and Rocca & Miguel Perez against Skull Murphy and Karl Von Hess. Not bad for two bucks!
I found a cool 2 disc set for $5 at Walmart. One disc is called the Glory Days of Wrestling and has Gorgeous George vs. Jessie James, Killer Kowalski vs. Ed Carpentier, and Buddy Rogers vs. Pat O'Connor with more on it. The second disc has Jerry Lawler vs. Macho Man, Gorgeous George vs. The Masked Marvel, The Great Togo vs. Bobby Mannagoff, and a cool battle royal from the Sheik's Detroit territory.
I found 2 two disc sets at walmart for $5 each. They were put out by Delta video under the Classic Superstars of Wrestling banner. One had Steve Austin the Early Years. It is footage from the Dallas branch of the USWA when he first started, heck it has his TV debut when he was still Steve Williams vs. The Medicine Man. Pretty cool stuff you won't see on any WWE releases. The second disc in this set was Cactus Jack the early years. It also features footage from the USWA and also the GWF. It has him taking on The Patriot and Terry Gordy. He also takes on Eric Embry and has him teaming with Sheik Braddock against Jeff Jarrett and Matt Borne. Really cool to see where Mick started and how far he came.
The second set has Booker T the Early Years. All the footage is from the GWF where Booker started. They changed the commentary for some reason, but it was still cool seeing Booker when he first started. The second disc is a weird one. It is called Superstars of Yetseryear. They try and do some studio deal with some cheesy host, but does have Nick Bokwinkel and Tony Atlas interviewed. The matches on here are a weird one between Bob Orton and Jim Neidhart that takes place in Venezuela, with American commentary. They have the classic one hour ESPN AWA draw between Curt Hennig and Nick Bockwinkel. Tere is a match from the UWF where Ted DiBiase and Dr. Death take on the Freebirds, but the match stops before it finishes. They have two matches from the Memhis branch of the USWA. Eddie Gilbert takes on the Boogie Woogie Man and Jerry Lawler takes on JYD, which is sad because JYD was so past his prime. All in all a weird and eclectic set of matches. For the prices both sets were cool and have some obscure footage on them.
