I know Dusty did a prerecorded deal but I wish he'd have come out. I was holding up the four fingers before they came out. Now that was a helluva send off. Thanks so much Naitch. You were the man when I was really able to start watching in 80 and you're still the man. An era has ended, you were such a huge part of my life and screw all the haters moaning about your formulaic style, you made so many people look good. You carried your title as a Champion should and you represented not only the NWA but wrestling well. Diamonds are forever and so is the Nature Boy(with props to Buddy Rogers whom you stole that quote from)

A couple of people were conspicuously absent.
Undertaker Vince McMahon Roddy Piper Terry Funk.
I can understand the last two not being there if they were no longer on the company payroll but Taker and Vince should have been there to pay their respects and say good bye.

Vince and Taker came out after the show ended, not the same as live but they did pay their respects. I just found out Dusty wasn't there because he left his position with Creative and is now in charge of developing TV and characters for Florida Championship Wrestling, WWE's only developmental territory. I respect Ole for not doing anything with Vince because he once said hell would freeze over first, but it sure would have been awesome to see the original Horsemen one last time.(I think the version from last night with Barry, Tully, Arn, Ric, & JJ was the best Horsemen group ever. I felt bad for Malenko as he was a Horseman and he had to come out separate)

i figured Ole wouldn't be there, but i thought maybe Lex might be, since he was a Horseman before Barry, though i was glad to see all of the people that came out. i wondered if Funk or Piper would come out to see him. would have been nice if Ronnie Garvin had been there as well, or Nikita Koloff, but i was pretty impressed with everyone there.
of course, Sting was missing, which doesn't surprise anyone, but i would think he's spoken to Ric anyway.
