Bela Lugosi Meets a Brooklyn Gorilla (1952)
Bela Lugosi - Dr. Zabor Duke Mitchell - Duke Mitchell Sammy Petrillo - Sammy Petrillo Charlita - Nona Muriel Landers - Saloma Al Kikume - Chief Rakos Mickey Simpson - Chula Milton Newberger - Bongo, the Witch Doctor Martin Garralaga - Pepe Bordo Ramona the Chip - Ramona the Chip
This a comedy with romance, music and bad science fiction.
Duke and Sammy find themselves marouned on the island of Cola-Cola. Duke falls for the chief's oldest daughter, the beautiful Nona. The chief's younger daughter, the large, muscular Saloma, falls for the skinny Sammy. She tries to get him to eat so he'll become fat. Doing experiments on the island is Dr. Zabor. Like Salome, Ramona the chip falls for Sammy. Dr. Zabor is obssessed with Nona and becoming jealous of Duke decides to eliminate his rival by turning him into a gorilla.
Duke Mitchell and Sammy Petrillo try to mimic Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis, Sammy does the better job. Duke and Sammy think they recognize Dr. Zabor as the guy who goes around biting people.
Another $1 DVD but I got it for 50 cents on a two for a dollar sale at Dollar Tree (a different one then I usual visit). The other disc I got was "The Fast and the Furious" (1954).
