I am going to put my wish list for TPBs. As many of you that know me are aware of this is what it says, a wish list. My situation with my back renders things like these as luxuries that I hope to have one day but my kids and Wife come first so if I get them cool if not then cool. I used to own many of these but lost many in a house fire and Hurricane. I am going to list my top ten wished for Trades. Please list your's as well.
1)DC's The Greatest Golden Age Stories Ever Told-I had this one years ago. DC put out these Greatest Stories Trades in the early 90s and found them to be well done.
2)Robocop vs. Terminator was the first TPB I bought. The story was well done and I love how they tied the Robocop and Terminator mythos together.
3)JLA vs. Avengers, the only one I have seen was $75 bucks. I am hoping a cheaper one is out there but if not this series was so well done that should I have the moeny then I would spend that much for it. We waited twenty years for it and for once the wait was worth it.
4)DC vs. Marvel was, in my opinion, very well done. I am not sure if the voting was legit, but we still got some great battles. The thing I loved about this book were all the fights we got that were not advertised. Seeing so many Marvel heroes with their DC counterparts was a comic geeks wet dream.
5)DC-Marvel Cross Overs Classics Volumes 1-4 I would love to have these. They feature all the inter-company cross overs. I used to own the second Spidey-Supes team up and the Teen Titans-X Men one and they were awesome books. I had all the ones they did from the mid-90s and I feel they were good.
6)Batman vs. Predator this is the first one. It was very well done. Bats even busts out with his suit of armor he used in The Dark Knight book. The art was great as was th story.
7)The Amalgam books. DC and Marvel both put out collected books on the Amalgam heroes. I liked the concept and owned all the books when they were first published.
8)ABC Warriors The Meknificient Seven featured the initial run of ABC Warriors stories. The stories are so very good. It seems everyone has heard of Judge Dredd and Rogue Trooper, but for my money the Warriors are the best of the British comics out there.
9)Robusters Book Two is a great book. Ro Busters begot ABC Warriors. Ro Busters featured Robots dealing with disaters humans couldn't. They were opressed and abused and later rebelled. These stories are revered as classics in England. I hope to own it again one day.
10)Aliens vs. Predator, the very first one. If they had used this comic as the basis for the mvie then it would have been a classic. The story is solid and the art is good.
There are ever so many more than these that I would love. Marvel put out two volumes of the Champions which looks cool. I'd also love to have all the Essentials, Showcases, Masterworks, and Archives books. My Brother is getting me the Crisis of Infinite Earths and Secret Wars TPBs. I wouldn't mind getting the Batman&Judge Dredd books again. They were cool. The two Batman&Spawn books were well done. Zero Hour was pretty cool. I wouldn't mind getting the various other Batman vs. Predator books. The second one was good, not as good as the first but still good. The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen looks good. New Frontier and 52 look interesting. I saw some of the classic New Teen Titans from the 80s and those were some awesome books. I have always anted to read the first Squadron Supreme series.
I could go broke and stay broke as they are putting out so many great books now.
