it was still just called Star Trek back when it first came on, no "The Animated Series" or any nonsense like that.
anyway, just watching the first disc and it's pretty darn good. the animation is way better than i remembered- i always thought Filmation had great looking shows, if not the best animated ones (and that is usually true) but this is better than i had remembered.
i like seeing truly alien races on the Enterprise as crew members, Lt. Arex and M'Ress are very cool.
stories are solid as well. fie on the trek nerds who don't like it and won't consider it canon.
