Something I thought people should read about...an article on the extremely obscure (in the US, anyway) anime "Jack and the Witch," which I saw as a kid but don't remember very much of: www.coldfusionvideo.com/j/jacknwitch.htmlIf you bother to go through the pages of Letters people have written to this site's webmaster (all sort of jumbled together) you will notice an alarming consistency to the letters about "Jack and the Witch." Invariably, it seems, everyone who saw this as a kid was "haunted" by memories of it ever since.

guess where "Cool Stuff" got his original tape from? that's right, ME! unfortunately, most US prints are 10 minutes short of the Japanese running time. there is one guy in the States who has a complete print in English, but won't release it since of course it will be all over eBay in record time.
very cool movie, and dubbed by our friends at Titra. Jack sounds a lot like Speed Racer.

Well, finally, after thirty years or something, I got to see this. It's a good film! Very strange and sort of creepy. The dubbing by Fernandez and company was good too, the whole thing felt very Speed Racer/Kimba.

it's a fun, bizarre movie. wish i had seen it growing up, but it seemed to be a coastal movie. although i think my friend saw it in Nebraska as well. i know it was shown out here though.
it never was in CO, but we did get Pinocchio in Outer Space and Alakazam.
