Based on part of Jonathan Swift's satirical novel "Gulliver's Travels".
Dr. Lemuel Gulliver, a poor English doctor takes a job as a ship's surgeon in hopes of making his fortne so he can afford to marry. On the way to the East Indies he's washed overboard in a storm. He washes ashore in the land of Lilliput the inhabitants of which are 6 inches tall. From Lilliput Gulliver eventually travels to Brobdingnag, where the inhabitants are 60 feet tall.
There's little of Ray Harryhausen stop-motion animation, a squirel and an aligator both of which are giants to Gulliver and Elizabeth.
Kerwin Mathews was Sinbad in "The 7th Voyage of Sinbad". In the 1980s and 1990s Joan Hickson starred in a series of TV films based on Agatha Christie's Miss Jane Marple novels. In 1946 she was in the play "Appointment With Death". Agatha Christie saw her in it and wrote a letter saying she wanted her to someday play Miss Marple. 40 years later she did, sadly Agatha Christie had died 10 years previously. Joan Hickson died in 1998.
The DVD is too clear. When Gulliver walks by the castle in Lilliput you can see the white outline around him.
