I noticed info on this series several years ago and absolutely doubted there'd ever be a DVD release. But on a lark I was searching around this morning and indeed, it was released quite a while back. Looks like depending on the place, UK or Austrailia, you can get the R2 or R4 which contains 26 ten minute episodes for around £4.00. It's for young kids, but the model designs and animation might make it an appealing addition to one's collection. www.rodneymatthews.com/lavendercastle.htm"The series combines stop-motion models (made by Mackinnon & Saunders, Manchester) with computer-generated space machines, characters and backgrounds all based on Matthews designs***. The stop-motion animation characters, of which there are fourteen, are on average 17-25cm (7-10in) high and even have professionally made glass eyes. Twenty-six episodes were filmed using direct to hard disk video cameras." ***To me the designs shown on the above link make it look like Matthews designs were in turn based on the general look of Brian Froud.
