I have a question for you. This, I think, is a tough one.
Okay, someone here probably knows this. Which Little Rascals episode was this? I don't remember who was in this episode. But the kids go up to I think "Cherry Creek" (they pronounce "creek" as "crick") to go fishing. At night, someone stands in front of a lantern or a fire, I don't remember which, and casts a monstrous, frightening animated shadow which scares the bejeebies out of everyone.
Anyone remember this one?

Sure, it was "The First Round-Up" from 1934 with Spanky, his buddy Scotty and the older kids, Wally Albright, Stymie Beard and Tommy Bond (later of Butch fame) who didn't want the two younger ones tagging along. It turns out that Spanky and Scotty were much more prepared for the camp outing than the older kids, whom they thought would just be a burden. The older kids forget to bring their food and have to sit there watching Spanky and Scotty enjoying bread with jelly (and very thick bread at that!)
The highlight is Spanky playing with his shadow in front of his latern, and the older kids, already spooked, seeing something entirely different - a monstrous animated shadow; some sort of boogy man after them and they immediately flee!

i would never have known the name, but had recently- well, within 3 years, seen that very short. it's quite funny and was available on DVD (i think with Leonard Maltin hosting). it's time for some chronological Rascals sets as well.
