what a pleasant movie this is! of course, it bears a passing resemblance to the novel, but the leads are the thing here. i can see why it was a successful series- * The Thin Man (1934) * After the Thin Man (1936) * Another Thin Man (1939) * Shadow of the Thin Man (1941) * The Thin Man Goes Home (1944) * Song of the Thin Man (1947) six movies is a good length, spanning 13 years. Asta got a larger role in the rest of the movies, since he was a scene stealer in the first movie.

Ha! I also have the box set. It was interesting seeing a young Cesar Romero in the first on. My favorite however is "After the Thin Man" with Jimmy Stewart and a very clever ending! William Powell and Myrna Loy had great chemistry and they both never seemed to tire of their roles, (unlike say a Sean Connery who didn't look as enthused in later Bond movies). Powell and Loy looked like they were enjoying what they were doing.
