Definitely one of the best super robo series! Raideen is also such a cool design too, with his vaguely Egyptian looking face. God Bird is very cool also. I've been aware of the character since the late 70s thanks to the Shogun Warriors toy and comic line, which was my favorite line of toys ever as a kid. I had no idea then that each and every Shogun had his own series, that wasn't until the early 80s that I became aware of anime. I have the series without subs, but I do have episodes 9-12 subtitled and I just happened to watch them last week with my oldest son(he's 14) who is really into anime super robo shows. I agree that these shows should get legit releases over here and I think they probably would be sucessful if marketed right.I do have to say Raideen's theme song is not one of the best super robo themes, though it's still pretty good, it sounds like a cutesy parade march. Still, it's no where near as bad as Danguard Ace's goofy theme song!!
