i remember watching the first season (all six episodes) of this fun show. and i hate to admit it, i've never read any of the comics. i also didn't even know there was a second season until well into it's run. it ran 26 episodes.
the voice cast is pretty good, though a large part of them came from "King of the Hill".
anyway, it's a great idea, new "boy" robot needs the guidance of an older robot. then throw in robots, monsters and aliens and a large dose of humor, and there you go. i think it's a pretty good adaption, right along with "Cadillacs and Dinosaurs".

I really liked this series too and used to have most if not all of it on tape, but I lost the tapes years ago. I never read the comics either, but I remember seeing a preview ina dark Horse news letter or something and from that it was alot more violent and gory, so the series is probably better I would imagine.

I loved this show and even stole the catch phrase for myself "For the love of Mike!"

i gotta say it's an enjoyable show, and i'm pretty astounded it, along with "Cadillacs and Dinosaurs" hasn't been released on DVD. both would be easily done, and it would be nice.

Big Guy ended up being a mechanical exoskeleton and not a robot at all. I would say this show/comic was influenced by Astro Boy, Gigantor, and Frankenstein Jr. It was a cool little show.
