another Chang Cheh masterpiece, and probably the best ninja movie out there (though NINJA IN THE DRAGON'S DEN sure gives it a run for it's money).
anyway, it's ostensibly a battle between two kung fu schools, until the eville one hires a samurai to help them in the fight. when he is defeated, the samurai gives the leader a note to summon a ninja master to help him.
much blood and gore and fighting later, the survivor trains and then battles back.
it's really great. one of the bloodiest Shaw movies ever, i'll tell you what, and yet it's all so over the top it's funnier than gross. still, most samurai wouldn't have ever done business with ninja, so one must think this guy wasn't on the up and up anyway.
