An interesting variation on Egar Allen Poe's short story.
Mr. Edgar Poe has a nightmare:
Chief librarian Edgar Marsh has fallen for flower seller Betty Clare. Being inexperienced with women, Edgar consults his more wordly best friend Carl Loomis about how to approach the woman. Edgar gains the courage to ask Miss Clare out to dinner, then again for a drink, then again for dinner and dancing. Betty who is new in town and doesn't know anyone accepts the invitations hoping to meet other people through Edgar. Edgar not seeing the danger introduces Betty to Carl. Poor Edgar is so smitten he doesn't realise that Betty doesn't care for him but visits him at his house only because Carl comes over to play chess. Nor does Edgar notice that when she's dancing with him she keeps looking back at Carl. Edgar's bedroom window looks right into Betty's. When sees that she and Carl spend the night together, Edgar's love for his friend turns to hate and in a fit of rage he murders Carl and buries the body under the floor in his study. A few days later Edgar starts hearing a strange noise.
The transistion from Poe to Marsh could have been clearer.
I have this on a $1 DVD which also includes "Chiller" (1985).
