this isn't a bad movie, but could have been so much better, starting with not having Godzilla be in meltdown mode right away. add to that the immobility of Destroyer, and the "aliens" homages... well, it has good parts.
and Godzilla does get a great death scene.

Biggest mistake: Not having Godzilla kill Destroyah in his final battle. Or perhaps have the revived Junior get revenge on Destroyah for the finale.

It would have been alot more interesting had Godzilla's meltdown been caused by a failed attempt to stop him by the military. Maybe they used some new type of nuclear weapon that triggers this off at the beginning of the movie. It should have ended with Godzilla holding Destroyah in a stranglehold as he melted down and took him out with him. If Toho ever wanted try try and establish some sort of continuity with G vs D and G2K they could always cgi the silouette of the G2K Godzilla at the end of Destroyah as the revived Junior instead oh the Heisei one at the end.

This movie was better than “Space Godzilla” but that’s not really saying much.
Great Godzilla death scene, accompanied by Akira Ifkube’s score for one last time (very fitting I thought).
Destroyah was an interesting concept, but his immobility was a major hindrance, I thought. Really liked Godzilla Jr. however.
The two leads were rather mundane, with really the only interesting characters being Kenichi Yamane and Miki Saegusa and of course Momoko Kôchi as Emiko Yamane returning to the series for one last time. Indeed, this would be the last Godzilla movie for Kochi, Akira Ifkubke and Tomoyuki Tanaka (and to date Megumi Odaka).
