Hardy Boys: The Hidden Theft (2008)
Although Frank and Joe Hardy had been heared in several Nancy Drew games over the last few years and actually make appearances in two Nancy Drew games they don't get to solve their own case in a PC adventure game until last year's Hardy Boys: The Hidden Theft".
Frank Hardy is voiced by Jesse McCartney
Joe Hardy is voiced by Cody Linley
Its possible to talk to Nancy Drew on the phone but its is not the voice used by Her Interactive in their Nancy Drew Games, JoWood and The Adventure Company probably couldn't get for such a small part.
Hardy Boys: The Hidden Theft is a third person, adventure game, you see Frank and Joe as you control them. You can control both boys at once or chose to control just one of them at a time. You only need to chose between them once at the start of the game, for the rest of the game it makes more sense to be controlling them both at the same time.
This game moves the Hardy Boys into the current time frame, so they have cell phones, and can acess a computer (briefly) as well as having a DVD and video game console (both used only at the start of the game).
Frank and Joe receive a recorded message giving them their case. A local mansion has been robbed of 200 million dollars in bonds. Frank and Joe's investigaton will (briefly) take them out of their hometown of Bayport to Manhattan.
Hardy Boys: The Hidden Theft is a fairly short game, much easier than most Nancy Drew games. Traveling between locations is made easy by use of a map, although some locations have to be first unlocked by walking to them. Hardy Boys: The Hidden Theft isn't a great game but I've played much worse. I'd go for another Hardy Boys adventure game.
The second Hardy Boys game is a hidden object game not an adventure game.
