Unless through some miracle this turns out to be a joint Toho/US production I don't hold out alot of hope for this either. The Batman movies from them are ponderous and almost like a chore to actually sit through. Superman Returns was just OK.

Interesting, although I doubt anything will get done. Sometimes, I'm sort of torn. On one hand, I wouldn't mind seeing a well-made American Godzilla movie, but on the other, they screwed it up once, and they could do it again, and even make it even worse! In terms of Batman, I am surprised - meaning that I thought I was the only one who found the last movie of theirs rather ponderous!

My brother thinks its the best Batman move ever made. I haven't seen it, not really interested. As far as I am concerned there is only one Batman, Adam West. And I wish they'd release the TV series on DVD before he dies.

I liked Batman Begins pretty well though wish they'd done more with Scarecrow.
The second one, first off, I'm just not a fan of the Joker. Just never have been. And this story is just bleak and depressing and overlong. The plot got co opted by seeing how much depressing duality can be stuffed into 3 hours. Talk about forgetting what a superhero story is supposed to be about.
Been rewatching Batman the Animated Series lately. To me that is the ultimate Batman adaptation to date.

If they do an American interpretation of the classic Toho Godzilla then that could be cool. So long as we don't get another GINO. One of my favorite scenes from Final Wars was when Godzilla bitch slapped the newly christened Zilla. I liked Dark Knight. Ledger did better as the Joker than I expected, but I prefer Romero and Nicholson's versions better. Yes Heath did good, but I do think his untimely death has led to his version of the Joker taking on mythic proportions. The Joker is a nut and not necessarily supposed to be funny, but he isn't supposed to be brooding either.

I'll believe this when I see it on the screen.
as far as Batman, I love the West version and it's a shame that it is not out on DVD. I also love the 90s cartoon, and Conroy is the voice of Batman.Attachments:

I do have the Batman movie West did from the 60s. Sadly seems that is as close as we'll get to it being on DVD.

There's a movie of the Batman vs Green Hornet episodes. I don't remember if that happened on Batman or on Green Hornet. Pretty fun though.

I still think that this is a bad idea. apparently I am the only person who hasn't thought ANY LP movie was "great" and this one will be far too "realistic" again.
the Green Hornet vs Batman was on the Batman show. more people watched it, so have GH show up there, then go see his show.Attachments:
