Anyone else catch this yesterday afternoon(Sunday)? I didn't know it was going to be on, I was just flipping through the channels and turned it on just as the Shaw Brothers logo came on the screen, which was a shock in itself! I have the dvd, but I'll admit I've only actually watched the movie once or twice, and not for a couple years or so. IFC showed it widescreen and uncut, exactly the same print that's on the disc(the US disc released in 2000, not the HK one released a few years ago which I heard was even better). Not a bad flick at all really. The FX, provided by several of Toho's usual suspects,are quite good and the Peking Man design is interesting-he's a giant yeti rather than an overgrown ape. Of course, Evelyn Kraft's design is,um, interesting too!
