The version I have is dubbed in English, execept for the theme song which is in Japanese, even when its sang as part of the film. It has what I think are German subtitles. Although the music is by Kikuchi, Shunsuke again the "Gamera March" in this film is not the "Gamera March" of the earlier films.
A space pirate is determined to take over the Earth. He sends a female agent to hunt down and kill the three "space women" who are living on Earth. He also sends giant monsters to reak havoc on the Earth. One at a time Gamera faces Gyaos, Zigra, Viras and Jiger. After defeating Jiger, Gamera journies the alien planet which is the home of the monsters to face Guiron. After which Gamera returns to Earth for the final battle against Barugon (the first monster Gamera faced in the other movies). There are two scenes that make no sense at all. One has Gamera following after a cartoon spaceship the other has a cartoon train flying off into space as Gamera is returning to Earth. The scenes of Gamera fighting the other monsters are all outtakes from the previous Gamera movies.
The space women can transform into costumed form which allows them to fly. They can also shrink themselves, which they do to sleep in a box in the back of a van instead of in their apartments. Doesn't make sense to me either. They use musical keyboards to transform their cars into spaceships and to activate visual monitors. Because they are from "The Peace Planet" they are not allowed to use weapons or actually harm anyone. (Being from "Peace Land" doesn't stop the Zone Family from killing in Toho's Meteor Man Zone series).
Gamera in this film is a fictional character, until a turtle befriended by a young boy transforms itself into a giant to take on the invading monsters.
The people who did the English dubbing mispronounce Gamera. It annoyed me to hear Keiichi sing the Gamera March, in Japanese and pronounce the name Ga-mi-ra (the way its always pronounced by the Japanese) then speak in English and say Ga-mer-ah.
The Zanon space ship resembles a Star Destroyer from Star Wars.
Worst of the Gamera films and probably the silliest Japanese film I've ever seen. The English dubbing may have influenced my perceptions of the film. I find that Japanese movies and TV shows always seem worse when dubbed in English.
