Anthony Romero at Toho Kingdom just announced that my friend, Guy M. Tucker, author of "Age of the Gods: The History of the Japanese Fantasy Film," passed away on November 17th from heart failure. This is shocking, as I spoke to him a week or two before he passed away. I wondered why I hadn't heard back from him. Guy never got over watching his father slowly be eaten away by cancer. He was a great and unselfish compatriot whom I knew over twenty years, I am privileged that he also considered me one of his best and most trusted friends.
He contributed to my upcoming book on Eiji Tsuburaya and was planning on revising his own "Age of the Gods."
Rest in peace, Guy, old buddy.
