You know, I tire of reading these articles in which people praise the movie while at the same time making fun of the special FX and such. It's the gosh darn '50s, why don't they look at it from those eyes instead the eyes of a modern person. Entertainment Weekly ran an article like that. Really irritates me.

They made light of Tsuburaya's effects back in the 50's too, man. Not that Harryhausen's effects were perfect. Puppet, suit, suit, puppet. Does it really matter? I find these reviews so narrow-minded. I've seen only a few reviews that take the film seriously enough to give some sort of reason for disliking it.

I've stopped listening to "professional" reviewers. All they know how to do is extrude soft coil-shaped objects.
