I've been thinking about this for about a week or so now since watching TOKYO SOS and the 74 Gvs MG.Of all the Toho monsters to be repeatedly brought back,only MG is radically different in appearance,weapons and motive everytime(except maybe Mothra who got redesigned umpteen times in the trilogy but she has the same personality every time).Now leveling the field size wise to an even height for all 3 MGs,which one do you guys think would emerge victorious? Showa MG would be the 74 version and Kiryu would be the Tokyo SOS version because the Absolute Zero Cannon is a bit unfair.I know on other boards a discussion like this usually devolves into a flame match over how stupid person A is because they like MG 74 over MG93 or whatever but I know we are all above that here.Plus this isn't about which version of MG is your favorite,in an actual battle which one do you think would beat the other 2 and why?Personally I hate the 93 version of MG but his Plasma grenade and diamond armor are pretty formidible,but he is also slow and prone to malfunction.ShowaMg and Kiryu and both fast and loaded with enough firepower to devastate a small country,so i think MG 93 would go down first,because his armor is resistant to energy attacks,but I don't believe it could hold up against either Kiryu or ShowaMG's missles,leaving the savage alien death machine and Kiryu to go toe to toe.Figuring they'd run out of ammo by now I don't think Kiryu's hyper masers are as powerful as MG's Space Beam and Close Attack beam,but Kiryu also is more or less sentient when he goes into Godzilla mind set and might outthink MG,but I think in the end Kiryu's power would run low and that combined with Showa MG's devastating beam attacks would spell victory for the space Ape Men!
