OK, does anyone know for sure that all the new G dvd's from Sony/Columbia are indeed widescreen?? The packaging doesn't say so on the front covers and Amazon isn't any more helpful. Is the dub on G vs. Hedorah the British or AIP english dub? Lastly, what is this Tokyo S.O.S flick coming out in December? Is that the flick made after G vs. MG? Thanks guys, I'm not as savvy on the zilla news as I used to be

they are all widescreen, and the vid captures i've seen look magnificent. they are all the "international" dubs, which means no "Save the Earth" in Hedorah. TOkyo:SOS is the sequel to GXMG.

I bought the three-disc Sony set that includes Godzilla vs. Hedorah, Godzilla vs. Gigan, and the lame Godzilla '98. The prints are awesome, as is the sound. I think, but I'm not positive, that the films are remastered from the original Japanese versions. The two older films are in Japanese language by default, and you must switch the auido to the English track. They are widescreen prints. ;D I haven't even opened the Matthew Broderick version yet. I'm a bit annoyed, as the site description claimed the third disc was the original Godzilla film sans Raymond Burr, which it obviously is not.

Just realized I had a Peter Griffin moment here. I'm speaking of the Columbia/Tri-Star DVD's, not the Sony ones. I have the Sony/Classic Media Ultimate Collection as well, but the Columbia discs are the real deal. Duh!

To come to think of it, the American dub of GODZILLA VS HEDORAH (a.k.a. GODZILLA VS THE SMOG MONSTER), GODZILLA VS GIGAN (a.k.a. GODZILLA ON MONSTER ISLAND), and DESTROY ALL MONSTERS, are all holy grails of kaiju eiga.

there is no US dub of GODZILLA ON MONSTER ISLAND, it's the same one that's being used now.
