Holy Crud-check this link out: www.tohokingdom.com/web_pages/articles/analysis_02.htmI had no idea that this was the secret behind the Showa King Shisa! It would explain why he was so heavy-30,000 metric tons.I don't think the Final Wars King Shisa is the same,I think he's an actual flesh and blood kaiju.

wait, are they saying he is a cyborg? highly dubious, since it's never mentioned in the movie.
but what do i know? where is Chris, the one who deciphered the whole King Shisa name?

"I had no idea that this was the secret behind the Showa King Shisa!"
So many jokes to put after this quote.Oh well go with a clean one for a change.
Are you saying he lied when he said he was a Power Ranger?

No, I think what they are saying is more that he's a living idol. Which makes sense when you think about it.
I suppose that article in OWARI #1 may have been the first discussion of that aspect, but I'm sure people would have tumbled to it eventually.

Yeah-he's a living idol like Majin but made from stone, metal(?) and jewels(which is how his reflecting prism beam works. That does make more sense with all the magical stuff needed to uncover and awaken him in the film ,but I'd never even thought he was a living statue and not a flesh and blood monster.I'd like to know what source they got those cut away diagrams from.

probably a ton of Japanese books have diagrams like that- i remember Andre DuBois used to do them for Japanese Giants back in the day.

I knew about "Shisa" for years and no one would listen to me. When Damon Foster showed me that issue of Owari years ago, I jumped for joy and said, "Someone out there has done their homework! See? See? It's your stupid minds! Stupid! Stupid! That's why all must be destroyed!" BTW, those King Shisa cutaways are not from the 1970s; the full-body shot was illustrated by mangaka and suitactor Hurricane Ryu. So, I don't think we can take that as canon. No other books refer to him as anything than a "Densetsu Kaiju" (Legendary Monster). So, who knows?
