I found these on the MFC list, so I thought I'd pass them on to you guys. First is Warren Kemmerling, who played the general in the American scenes in GODZILLA 1985. us.imdb.com/name/nm0447230/The second is Koji Hashimoto, the director of the original Japanese version of GODZILLA 1985 and also SAYONARA JUPITER. He had staff positions on several other tokusatsu films. us.imdb.com/name/nm0368057/With Hashimoto's passing, almost all of the director's of the pre-BIOLLANTE era Godzilla films are gone. Only Yoshimitsu Banno is left. *Ishiro Honda (1911-1993) *Motoyoshi Oda (1910-1973) *Jun Fukuda (1923-2000) *Koji Hashimoto (1936-2005)

Indeed,Kemmerling's General from ''GODZILLA 1985'' was almost as sympathetic a character as Burr's Steve Martin(&his role as a Senator grilling Ray Charles at a Congressional hearing in one of Ray's ''Uh-Huh!'' Pepsi ads was PRICELESS...)Also,Hashimoto-san did a pretty good job on the original Japanese version of ''G 1985''&came across in interviews as a truly kind person who loved what he was doing. Thanks for posting this,Chris;they shall both be missed.

Indeed,Kemmerling's General from ''GODZILLA 1985'' was almost as sympathetic a character as Burr's Steve Martin I’m not one for reviving old threads, but I just couldn’t help myself as the other day, I did see the late Mr. Kemmerling in an old episode of “Perry Mason”! So evidently “Godzilla 85” wasn’t their only work together! He played the real killer in this particular story and of course Perry was able to nail him! Why the heck didn’t this D.A. just quit and find another job? Watching this show now as an adult, to me it is quite an intelligent program. It has been said that people in the 1950s and 60s, who had never been to court before, knew of court proceedings quite well, all by just by watching this show alone! It’s surprising to me that “Perry Mason” is not available on DVD.

Me too. I have a few Perry Mason episodes on VHS tape but I'd like to be able to rent the entire series on DVD, like I'm doing with other tv series each time a season comes out.
At one time Earl Stanley Gardner (creator of Perry Mason) was considered the most prolific author. Besides the Perry Mason novels he wrote lots of short storiies, in different generes.
The are actually 3 times Perry losses his case, two of those three times he appeals and wins. In the books Perry sometimes defends a client in different jurisdictions so its not always the same prosecutor (Hamilton Burger) or same police officer (Sgt Tragg). As far as I know Della Street and Paul Drake are in every story though.

it would be interesting to see Perry on some show like Law and Order, since they rarely lose either!
