Riki Hashimoto ... Majin Shinji Hori Shiei Iizuki Masahide Kizuka Hideki Ninomiya ... Tsurukichi
dang, there sure are a lot of movies from 1966. there's still one left!
the third and final Majin movie boasts some excellent outdoor photography. it's also got kids as the leads, though the awful things that happen to them (one doesn't make it) suggest a reason as to why this might not have been released by AIP-tv over here.
remember when this was the long lost Majin movie? none of us had ever seen it, and when it was released on VHS with subs we all were so happy. now whiners complain about picture flaws, it's not anamorphic, the sound isn't so great...
shut the hell up (i wanna tell those "fans")!
it's also got some weird imagery in it as well. just might have been too intense for us kids. the world may never know!

That must be the one of the three I haven't seen.

I didn’t even know they made a third one, until I read one of Stuart Galbraith’s book. I did not see this until I bought a bootleg around 10 years ago. And David you make an excellent point as to why possibly AIP did not release this one.
I thought it had a unique premise with the kids, although in the end, it became the old theme of evil warlord getting his comeuppance. But the special effects in all Majin movies were always quite good.

I think this might be the best one.
Yes ... It might have been a little too heavy as far as AIP was concerned, who knows? All of these Majin films in the same year.
Incredible. Majin in the Snow is really something to look at.
A Classic.

it certainly is the best looking with great photography and scenery- the outdoor scenes really look wonderful.
Zone, i think you might enjoy these movies, lots of swordplay and chanbarra style action for most of the movie, then the badguys get theirs but good!

I like this film the best of the trilogy as well. The scenes of Majin in the snow are very striking. I also love his entrance, which i think tops even the one in Return where he parts the lake. Here he rises striaght up vertically from the snow with a red glow underneath him as if he is rising straight from the pits of Hell. I also liked that Majin finally used his short sword for something other than a belt decoration!
