Gave: Some collectible magazines for some people (issues of FAMOUS MONSTERS and DYNAMITE magazines). A couple of illustrated Beatrix Potter books. Couple of Christmas snow globes with Santa's workshop inside. Some candy canes and chocolate-covered cherries.
Got: A couple of lovely dinners, some Thunderbirds DVDs, Harry Potter books (4 and 5).
Additionally, some local stray cats were fixed and released by a local vet in time for the holidays, and they seem in pretty good shape, have had their Xmas dinners, etc.

that's cool. how old were the issues of Dynamite? i really loved that magazine, it reprinted heroes origins in color i had never read.
then they lost the license or something and started some stupid new hero series.
Amy, is the bad girls calendar supposed to inspire some 'bad" on your part? here's hoping!

Megs I'm in my glory. My dear wife got me the 3 new legacy sets - THE MUMMY, THE INVISIBLE MAN and THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON. She's the greatest and I'm a lucky guy!
The kids got pretty much all the video games, clothes and DVDs they were asking for and they were very happy.
Got my wife some girly things and also LOST IN SPADE Season 2 Volume 2. That is her favorite series which we all love as well.
All in all, it was a blast and great fun sharing family time. Last night we watched our eldest son's DVD of SPIDER-MAN 2.

Ah, yes, the DYNAMITE magazines...the issues I gave out were from the mid to late 70's...
I had gotten lucky on Ebay and grabbed a whole stack of nice DYNAMITES from a nice gal (she read 'em back in the 70's......eek!), and when I got them I thought, "Hey, these would make nice gifts..." And by golly, they did, actually. There were screams of "OH MY GOD, 'DYNAMITE'...I had this issue when I was a KID!!!" etc. Heh heh heh!
I am happiest about the little cats, though, because I thought I would never see them again, and they showed up, looking a little slow, just before Christmas. They had been fixed, and had a little clip taken out of their left ears to mark them...basically intact, and not too badly freaked out. Very good.

that's a good story about Dynamite, and a better one about the cats. Space and Release is a great thing to do, especially for ferals.
i have to get 'Zu spayed in a few months, i think. she may never forgive me.

Girl cats get over it pretty quickly once they get past the healing from the surgery. As for the bad girl bit. You decide this is the forum that they have started. www.badgirlswirl.com/forums/default.asp

For those interested in DYNAMITE, there is a related mp3 over at the 365 Days Project. No, I haven't listened to it, but I vaguely recall the character. www.ubu.com/outsiders/365/10-2.htmlI believe it is the one on the bottom of the page.

DYNAMITE magazine!!! Now that brings back memories! I remember one cover had Shaun Cassidy next to Chewbacca! Very odd assortment. As for gifts, well I got some nice gift cards (I also gave out several as well. It is definitely the best gift to give anyone who is difficult to find). I got some socks (I really did need them!) and various DVD's among them, "Tokyo SOS", "The Day the Earth Stood Still", "The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms" and the "Star Wars" set. I've used one of my gift cards to buy "The Naked Jungle" which I didn't know was available on DVD until I saw it at Tower Records.

We had a wonderful Christmas this year. The boys got so much loot they still have some toys they haven't taken out of the boxes yet. They also each started a Bandai collection-Logan got the new Fire Mothra from FINAL WARS and Tyler got Godzilla from GxMG plus a reissue marusan kaiju figure from an early 70s series they made up.Looks like a SPACE GIANTS or SPECTREMAN type monster,I have most of the series myself and they are all groovy in that funky 60s/70s Marusan/Bullmark fasion!I got several great dvds including the Creature and Invisible Man Legacy sets,Santa Claus Conquers the Martians and the Mexican Santa Claus(God help me,but I love both of these slices of holiday cheese!) and I am still waiting on the gift from my awesome wife-6 of the new FINAL WARS Bandais! I'm hoping they get here tomorrow. She got me Godzilla,Fire Mothra,Rodan,Angilas,Kaiser Ghidorah and the bad-azz Gigan with Chainsaws.I also used some holiday money to order Monster X.Alien X and a cool looking Final Wars book as well.
